Hey Rounders, welcome to your 2017 season!

Your Creative Staff and Rounders Board have worked hard over the offseason to bring you yet another enjoyable Second Time Arounders Marching Band Experience this, our 35th. Welcome to our 35th year!

Our percussion and Auxiliary rehearsals have already begun with our first “Full Band” rehearsal slated for Tuesday, February 7th at the Coliseum in St. Petersburg. Come early to complete your registration and socialize a bit. Doors open at 6PM!

Music is available on our website using the password for your section (listed later in this Email). Please bring your music with you, and a stand!

This year’s Band returns a bit to our roots with a consolidated rehearsal schedule (6), five performance events, and concluding with our 35th Anniversary Gala Dinner and Celebration. Our Member Calendar will always show you event detail so let’s get excited about two well-attended parades; the Ybor City St. Patrick’s Day Parade Saturday March 18 and the Chasco Fiesta Parade Saturday Mach 25, A performance at Ferg’s for the Tampa Bay Rays Home Opener against the Yankees (Sun April 2), the Pinellas Festival of Bands in Dunedin on Saturday April 8 (this year with 5 bands!), and a concert at the Mainsail Arts Festival in St. Pete on Sat April 23.

Celebrate your portion of our thirty five years at our 35th Anniversary Gala Dinner and Party scheduled at the Feather Sound Country Club on Saturday, April 29. Music by the “Black Honkey’s” along with pictures, videos, and stories about the band’s 35 successful years. Look for more detail later in the season.

We had a great turnout at our New Member Orientation several days ago and look forward to seeing each of you at rehearsal. Still looking to join the band? Come join us at rehearsal on February 7th and our section leaders will orientate you to the fun. It’s not too late to be a Rounder in our 35th year!

Thanks for reading through the music a few times before Tuesday’s baton drop (2/7). Most sections have had or are planning a sectional prior to the big one on Feb. 7th.  Go over your music and try to familiarize yourself with what’s in front of you.  Be ready for the big sound. I can’t wait to see you all at the Coliseum!
