Roger Green attended Stetson University in Deland Florida, graduating with a BA degree in music education. He received his M.M.Ed Degree from The University of South Florida in Tampa and completed his School Counseling certification from University of Sarasota. He has served Pinellas County Schools in various capacities for over 47 years. For 22 years, he served as Director of Bands at Bay Point Middle School, Lakewood High School and Morgan Fitzgerald Middle School; consistently receiving superior ratings in concert, jazz, and marching band. He also served as a District Doorways Coordinator and as a school Guidance Counselor at Morgan Fitzgerald and Meadowlawn Middle Schools. Mr. Green has adjudicated marching band competitions, parades, concert band, and solo/ensemble performances. He has served as the brass instructor for the Osceola High School Band Program, currently teaches private brass instruction at Skycrest Christian and has served as a guest conductor/clinician for area middle/high school band programs. Mr. Green is a FBA adjudicator, is a member of Kappa Delta Pi, Phi Kappa Pi, American School Band Directors Association, National Band Directors Association, National Association for Music Education, Florida Music Educators Association and the Florida Bandmasters Association. Mr. Green has served as the Associate Director and trumpet player for the Greater St. Petersburg Second Time Arounders Marching Band since 1982. He is one of the original members of the Rounders and marched with 440 other Rounders in the 2019 Macy’s Thanksgiving day parade and with the Rounders in the 2008 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Roger is also the Associate Director and trumpet player for The St. Petersburg Community Band since 2007. As a retired educator, Roger enjoys spending quality time with his family, attending church, teaching, playing golf and performing with the Rounders and the St Petersburg Community Band.
