This year’s Holiday Spectacular carries extra meaning— for the first time in the 40+ years, we have a new face on the podium leading the Second Winds. Please join us in welcoming Mr. Steven Cantin.

Steve Cantin – Director, Second Time Arounders & Second Winds

Steve Cantin brings a lifetime of musical experience and a passion for music education to his role as the Musical Director of the Second Time Arounders and the Second Winds Symphonic Band. A graduate of the University of Tampa with a degree in Music Education, Steve spent 11 years teaching in Hillsborough and Pinellas County schools and continues to mentor young musicians as a private trumpet instructor.

An accomplished trumpet player, Steve has performed with numerous ensembles, including the two-time DCI World Champion Phantom Regiment, the Dunedin Concert Band, and the Florida Brass. He joined the Second Time Arounders in 2002, performing with the band at events including the 2008 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Following the passing of beloved founder and longtime director Bill Findeisen, Steve proudly steps into this leadership role, carrying forward the band’s tradition of musical excellence, friendship, and fun. This year’s Holiday Spectacular marks his first time leading the Second Winds, beginning an exciting new chapter for the Second Winds family.
