The Second Time Arounders Marching Band – Mission Statement
The mission of the Second Time Arounders Marching Band is to inspire, connect, and enrich lives through the lifelong joy of music and the tradition of marching band.
Rooted in St. Petersburg and Pinellas County, Florida, we serve our local community while welcoming members from near and far. Our membership is open to all interested adults, with participants traveling from across Florida and others planning extended stays in St. Petersburg from elsewhere in the country to be part of this unique organization.
We provide adults of all ages, backgrounds, and musical abilities the opportunity to rediscover their passion for music, experience the camaraderie of performing together, and enjoy the excitement of marching band once again—or for the very first time. We believe that music has no age limit, that participation builds friendships and strengthens communities, and that everyone deserves an opportunity to be part of something extraordinary.
Beyond our commitment to adult participation and musical excellence, we invest in the future of music education by providing scholarships to deserving student musicians, helping the next generation pursue their musical talents and aspirations.
With two appearances in the iconic Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, the Second Time Arounders proudly demonstrates that passion, dedication, and the power of music can bring people together and create extraordinary experiences at any stage of life.
Through performance, education, philanthropy, and community engagement, we strive to keep the spirit of marching band alive, make music accessible to more people, and inspire generations—proving that sometimes the best things in life deserve a second time around.
